A Little Piece of Nepal Will Always Stay With Me

In 2012, I had the privilege of being invited to Nepal by Leo & Lotus to visit fair trade artisans and makers.

It was one of those experiences that stays with you long after you have returned home.

I remember being deeply moved by the warmth and generosity of the people I met, and by the incredible talent and care that went into the things they created. There was something incredibly special about seeing the hands, stories and people behind the beautiful products we so often take for granted.

I came home with a very special place for Nepal in my heart.

And all these years later, I still think about that visit.

My heart is with Nepal

Seeing the devastation caused by the recent disaster has been heartbreaking.

I have found myself thinking about the people I met, the communities I visited and the beautiful country that gave me such a meaningful experience all those years ago.

When something so devastating happens, it can be difficult to know how to help when you are so far away. I have been asking myself what I can do, even in some small way, to offer support.

So, throughout September, Grief Gifts will donate 20% of all sales to the Red Cross Global Emergency Fund to help support those affected by the disaster.

This will be in addition to my ongoing commitment to donate $1 from every sale to Oldies But Goodies, a cause that is very close to my heart.

A small gesture, with love

I know that a small business donating a percentage of its sales cannot change what has happened.

But I also believe that small acts of care can add up.

Every Grief Gifts order placed during September will help contribute to this donation, meaning that when you choose to send a thoughtful gift to someone you love, you will also be helping provide support to people in Nepal during an incredibly difficult time.

For me, this is about more than a donation.

It is a small way of giving something back to a country that gave me so much.

To the people I met in Nepal in 2012, and to everyone affected by this tragedy, my heart is with you.
